My final thesis was on Controls on Strategic Technology Transfers from the West to Socialist Countries, 1949-1989 (technical glossary attached). I graduated with a 110/110 mark in July, 1990. Translated Languages: from Italian into: English from: English German French Spanish into Italian Work Experiences: From January, 1991 to November, 1992 I was managing partner of PR&T Service, a small, young firm in Trieste offering translation, congress organisation, PR and desktop publishing services. I was responsible for the translation and congress organisation sectors, beside working as a translator myself. In 1993 I moved to Rome and have been working as a free-lance translator since then. Last year, I translated about 5,500 pages (1,500 bytes/page). Hardware and Software: I currently work on a PC with a K6 200 processor (6 Gb, 64 Mb RAM) equipped with Windows 2000 and Word 7 for Windows, AcrobatReader 5.0 and WinZip 8.0. I have unlimited access to the Internet by means of ADSL line (Alcatel 1 SpeedTouch USB modem). Main Clients: * since 1991, I have been working for Harlequin Mondadori S.p.A., Milan, translating and adapting romance books from English into Italian. To date, I have translated well over 100 books; * since 1994, I have been translating technical press articles from German and English into Italian for the Ministry of Defence, Rome. The topics vary from foreign politics and economics to weapon technology and military strategy; * since 1996, I have been working for Editing S.p.A., Rome, a publishing house which operates as subcontractor for De Agostini to translate and adapt magazine series and multi-media partworks. Main titles: Nostro Figlio (pedagogy, education - from Spanish. I translated four instalments); XX Secolo (politics, history, general issues - from German. I translated all 100 weekly issues), Natura d'Italia (the Italian version of British Wildlife Magazine, from English. I translated all 100 weekly issues.), Enciclopedia dei Cani (on dog breeds; I translated over 100 FCI-approved standards from French, English and German). Currently, I am translating a new publication on horses and horseriding (from French); * since 1996 I have been translating press releases and catalogues from and into English for the External Relations Office of Bvlgari S.p.A., Rome. * between 1998 and 2000 I translated various documentation and draft projects from Italian into English for the CIES - Centre of Economic and Social Engineering, Università della Calabria, Arcavacata di Rende (Cosenza); * since 1998, I have been working for several translation agencies on the net, most recently for Interconsul, Parma. * since 1999, I have been translating articles, in-house reports and press releases relating to medicine and pharmaceuticals from English and German into Italian for Merck Sharp & Dohme Italia, Rome.
